As of August 4th, the restrictions on carry-on lighters have been lifted at all US airports. It is now policy, and can be viewed on the TSA website.

I would suggest that anyone who wants to bring a lighter along visit their website and print out a copy of the new regs to avoid any hassles.

Of course you still can't smoke anywhere, but so it goes.
