While I wish it were going to be a trip to the convention, but it will be surgery on the 7th. I have a hard time calling anything they do to you where they don’t cut you open surgery. They will do Gamma knife, which is a non-invasive radiation surgery (or so they say). The day will start at 6AM and last till about 2 PM. At that time you go home. I can remember spending 7 days in the hospital and another 7 in bed when I had my appendix removed in 1960. Today it’s brain surgery in the morning, home for dinner.
Both Denise and I had been looking forward to making the convention, but also understood a few weeks ago, that the trip might be a little too much.
A meeting with the radiologist, and the surgeon on Tuesday, and the decision was made to do the procedure (sounds better then surgery) on the 7th.
On the good news side, the grandson (1st grandchild) should be here within the hour, along with mom and dad, for 4 days.
To all who are going to the convention, HAVE A GREAT TIME.
