There is an upside to this Rick....
My hubby isn't much of a chip collector and a lousy VP player. He likes to play slot machines. A few years ago, I decided to try and win a few silver strikes. Since Darrell insists on standing 2 inches behind me while I played and loudly sighing, I handed him $40 and told him to play the silver strike machine next to me....Every time he's win one, he'd loudly yell "I got one, I got one!".
Oh man, was he hooked! When he is out on the road (truck driver), he searches any/all casinos for silver strike machines and brings home handfuls.....
In other words, if you have a spouse that is ho-hum about chip collecting - find them a specialty they'll enjoy!
It worked like a charm for me, and now Darrell can't wait to get to Vegas (he is horrified at the thought that some folks will play big $$ to go to Vegas strip clubs, when they could be winning silver strikes )!
....There are ALOT worse vices in life than collecting silver strikes.....
