Not the federal and/or state governments which set standards and fund K-12 public education, not colleges of Teacher Education, not those who vote for, or administer, funds for local schools. Not TV, video games, or a narcissistic child culture of violence and self-indulgence. Certianly not a political system which cannot provide healthcare to all children so they can show up to school ready to learn. Putting any responsibility on parents is unacceptable; they often simply don't have the time to become involved with their child's education.

That narrows the guilty down to one - CLASSROOM TEACHERS !! Especially if they request a pay increase, belong to anything resembling a union, or take sides on issues affecting education.

I'm not sure why, but somehow, Michael Moore and the Democratic Party must also share in the blame !!?
