I had the tape drive as well. but then changed to the floppy. The a second floppy ( LOAD "$" ,8 or 9 )

But my first one was the Timex Sinclair ... for 1 night. I ran out of memory, so upgraded to the TI-99/4A (1981). 16K of RAM and a 3.3MhZ processor.
