Remember the Timex-Sinclair 1000 ??
In Response To: My first computer ()

It was about $50 for the CPU the thing on the back was a 16K memory backpack. You used a B&W TV as a monitor and a cassette tape recorder as a hard drive you didn't have a printer. I loved their advertizing... "Buy a Timex Sinclair for $49.95 and try it, if you don't like it you haven't spent a fortune finding out" (or someting to that effect. It actually worked, programmed with basic. I wrote a couple of games, some accounting (check register type thing) and a program where I could put in my work schedule and it figured my pay, taxes, SS, savings deductions etc. and came out accurate within 3ยข. It was an AMAZING little device!!
