As to David seeking sympathy, I spent six hours with him at the last Chicago chippers meeting. I didn't know he had cancer until his wife mentioned it in passing. I did not know how serious it is until I started reading this thread. As one of the lucky ones (just over one year now) I was amazed at just how calmly David was taking it. My thoughts and best wishes are with him and his family.

That being said, the comments made were not made to him directly; they were sent to a third party. Freedom of speech does not guarantee freedom from jerks. That such poison could exist between two human beings stuns me. Dislike? Sure---nobody likes everybody. Hatred? Possible---sometimes a person just focuses on the dislike to a point where it turns to hatred. But this kind of crap is beyond the pale. But even though it is obviously the rantings of a disturbed mind, I don't see how the author could be censured or worse by the BOD. Comments meant to be private communications are just that. However,I do have to wonder as to the motives of the person who forwarded this vile message to David. I don't think a friend would forward such a message knowing the effect it would have.Just my two cents.
