Me, I'm way too impatient to wait on line for a buffet. It's worth the extra few dollars to duck into Raffle's for a mid-afternoon steak. A cool place on a hot day BTW. Had a nice dinner at the Harrah's buffet in Reno with some good chipper company last year but mostly I find the typical fare grey and warm. I do appreciate the little ID signs most institutions provide so I can tell the burritos from the chicken and the lime jello from the gravy.
I spotted this blog entry about the new buffet at The Palms. I guess the rest of The Palms must be "old" now. I was interested in planning my attack on the place for the Thursday evening poker tournament. Remember that year it took everyone 90 minutes to get to the place? One City of LV jackhammer, one City of LV jack*ss and one gigantic City of LV hole in the street = gridlock. Anyway, the blog has some good info about what we may find over at Gene's place. They're building a tower too (sigh), so expect to find parking taken up by 1200 white pickup trucks, each with a roof rack holding a ladder and an orange electrical cord dangling over the tailgate. In fact, if you've a hankering for your own buffet adventure this guy's whole "Buffets" section is pretty good! http://www.vegasrex.com/2007/07/22/i-finally-hit-the-new-palms-buffet
