Don't worry about the "long lines" Kurt. Seems an overblown concept to me. Here's my routine for check-in and registration. I've just hauled in Wednesday morning from up north but I've only registered triple digits on the speedometer just once...for maybe little while. Convention registration doesn't start until Wed., 9am - 4pm. If I check-in at the club registration, they're gonna give me my packet with all the tickets and goodies and convention material but I don't have a room yet so what am I going to do with
that? I'll probably take a seat at a table over at the Clown or Slots-A-Fun for a while or survey the Splashbar or shoot the breeze with another chipper in the lobby. Hotel check-in in this country is never until after noon o'clock so I'll start hunting the well hidden front desk about that time. Riviera is pretty good about dragging the dead hookers out from under the bed in hurry so I've never actually had to wait for my room to be ready. Yes, there's a line but nothing your average crazed-ferret chip collector can't handle. Last year (?) I got to know all about toy train collecting and the Canadian parliment from the gent from Vancouver B.C. in line ahead of me and passable Japanese from the group with the giant suitcases and tiny cameras passing on the queue switchback.
Just kidding! Don't let the automated self check-in kiosks scare you none, pretty simple and the nice Riviera folks are right there to assist. Actually find my room and then I'm ready for Club Reg. Club registration is a piece of cake too. Volunteers await at stations for A-E, F-L, and W-OOOOOOOOOOO. Look in the packet they give you and fish out your official
name tag with your member number and Clique Affiliation. Put the ID around your neck and plunge into the best four days you're gonna have untill next year's club gig!
