My Grandfather was born in New York City to a Irish Cop (his mother was a sister to several Irish Cops), my grandfather married a woman named Francis Duffy, who was born here, but not all her cousins were you understand. Other ancesters go back to the days of the Dead Rabbits (not a joke directed at a well meaning englishman) and the days of Servitude.

I have cousins who speak with an Irish Brogue even though they were born and raised in manhattan (don't tell anyone they are yankees fans) and so were their parents.
