There's a few ways...

...which is why you really need to inspect an antique slot in person. This is not a comprehensive list. Is the escalator operational or just for show? Same for the jackpot. Are there any modern-looking machine screws inside the machine? Original lock and key? Cash box intact? Serial numbers/stickers (lots of sticker guys on ebay)? There's about a zillion things to watch out for.

Many repros are the 25c denom and are War Eagles, Golden Nuggets, etc. I don't like the looks of that one, as the reel strips look too new, and the paytable just doesn't "look" right.
I may be making a bad call here, as it's a 5c machine, but without seeing it in person, who knows??????

They make nice display pieces in any case, but you can find a real one for the same or less $. There's a ton of repros at GGS as well as the internet.
