PA (July 2, 2007) – The Global Lottery Collector’s Society (GLCS) will host its annual scratch lottery ticket convention, its “Lotovention”, in Philadelphia for the first time. The event will take place on Friday, July 20 through Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 3327 Street Road in Bensalem, PA.
The annual event gives members the opportunity to meet face-to-face after spending numerous hours trading tickets through the mail. Attendees will have access to thousands of different scratch-off tickets from all over the country all in one room. The event is free and open to the public and club members hope the event will attract new members.
“Every year we find people who collect tickets but never knew there is an organization to meet and trade with others that share the same hobby,” said Steven Gilbert of Northeast Philadelphia, one of the co-chairs of this year’s event. “We invite anyone interested in learning more about collecting scratch lottery tickets to come to the event.”
The Global Lottery Collector’s Society (GLCS) is a group of lottery collecting enthusiasts who study and collect lottery tickets from around the world. GLCS members live all over the United States, Canada and other countries around the world. The approximately 200 members collect and trade tickets via correspondence with other members, thus enabling them to enlarge the scope of their collections beyond their own state or country’s borders.
