No, there is no hard and fast rule here about using your full name. David and the couple others that have the ability to delete posts do so based on some very loose rules that I have set forth. The main rule is don't delete without my review unless it is absolutely necessary.
In general, anything goes. I try to run the board by a rule that I learned in grade school. "Your right to punch me in the nose, ends at my nose." I think it was probably said to me more eloquently than that, but the older I get the less I remember. What were we talking about?? LOL
Here is but one example of how an anonymous post might be handled.
Let's say someone named "billy" responds to a post and says, "I think you are stupid". I would handle that a couple different ways, depending on who "billy" was. If billy is someone that is known around here, has an email address, etc., I would leave the post alone and let billy take the heat for it. On the other hand, if billy was an unknown individual, someone who just stepped in to cause trouble, I would delete the post.
I think that many times, matter of fact, straight to the point posts look rude or hostile when they aren't really meant to be that way. When you read something like that without the benefit of hearing the inflection in someones voice or seeing the look on their face, it is easy to get the wrong idea.
