TCR has more chips listed than James' book does. It also has more varieties listed. If a chip is known in both cancelled and original state, TCR often provides two listings with different price ranges.

Most importantly, TCR will provide you with a unique catalog number for referring to each chip. James' book uses "issue number" rathern than a unique catalog number. Issue number can changes as more info is obtained about older chips and things are resequenced.
