It's the same reasoning I use when wondering why anyone plays roulette (5.26% with minimum strategy of avoiding 0/00/1/2/3 combination bet), Caribbean Stud (4.94% with perfect strategy), Pai Gow (2.94% with perfect strategy) as compared to Craps (1.4% avoiding everything but pass/don't pass - and better if taking odds), Mini-Bacc (1.2% always playing 'Bank'), and Blackjack (0.5% with perfect basic strategy & -1.0% if counting and not getting caught). I think it detracts from the fun giving the house even what it deserves, let alone more. Were it not for the fact that I can't remember basic strategy, that would be my game of choice. I can, however, remember to play "Bank" on mini-bacc, so even though it's boring to others, with my ADD it is exciting to me, as with short-term memory loss each hand is a new and unique exciting experience, if I notice it.
When I play slots, I play a machine with a high hit frequency and low volitility, and always with a low-end jackpot, unless I choose to waste a pre-determined amount on the life-changing mega jackpot progressives - which I know is a lousy deal, but it's like a lottery. In the unlikely even it hits I can move to Vegas and eat at Picasso for the rest of my life. However, I do sometimes like the penny slots, and even though I know the paybacks are as low as 80%, I play. However, I mostly stick to "Alien", for has a high hit frequency and it allows me to daydream of naked Sigourney Weaver, which is very appealing.
