I really want to attend the convention, my resources suck, so I am going to sell some chips (something else I am not good at, and I hate). I will be posting a number of chips (including these illegals/unknowns), if you see anything you are interested in, let me know, and we can try and work out a deal.
My scanner is not very cooperative, but I will try to mention where the scan and the chip differ. Generally reds are pink etc.
The chips in this scan are illegals and unknowns (I know-duh). The three MAC chips are from a place in Peoria (Top of the Town/Talk of the town-apparently went by both names) that operated thru the 40s. I have read articles on it, and the owner (or manager info differs) is discussed in a book I received from the author (a local historian in Peoria). I also have a copy of one of the chip orders. The red one says MAC on both sides, the two blue say MAC on the obv. and $5 on the rev. I have a few of each, and they are in pretty nice shape. I origially had another blue in a harp mold, but I have no more dupes of that one. I also have the Peak and Boharts (I have several so I would seriously consider selling them as a lot), they are an illegal from Illinois also. The others are unknowns, but I suspect they are Illinois Illegals as well (no evidece to support that believe).
I also have (but no scan yet) a Paradice Club (beige T mold-3 blue inserts), a $25 Colonial Club (gold/4 red inserts) and a red unknown (found in California-nice condition) rev horsehead mold with GC on inlay (hot gold stamp).
I have the remaining Timmens Landing (LaCenter Wash card room) chips (34 in all). These are not in the Washington Book I am told (by its author). The newer $1 and $5 chips are, as was the $1 chip that is similar in style to the $5 chips I have. To be clear-I traded or otherwise disposed of a number of these. What I have left are the poorer quality chips-willing to sell as a group, willing to toss in on deals as a sweetener. I have a scan I believe if anybody is interested. These are fairly uncommon (note I did not use that evil word-rare)
