Convention trading etiquette...

I don't have much in the way of traders, mostly some commons, some fractionals and tokens. Are most trades done on a face-value basis or an actual value basis? Is it considered bad etiquette to offer tokens for chips, or fractionals for $1's?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I don't want to come off as a complete convention newbie! vbg

The chip below was the 1st. chip I ever won on eBay. I bought it from Josh Shore, he sent me info about the ccgtcc and the chipboard in my mailing. I was hooked within days... vbg That was 3yrs ago this past March!
