The lighting should be flat, but your scan has all the light from one side. Looks like a mechanical problem.

Levels are not set properly. I've adjusted somewhat with Photoshop and the scan appears to have the colors, just not in the right proportions.

Your chips are not round. Probably a setting in your scan software. I adjusted with Photoshop and they look better, but this should be automatic with your scan software unless you've overridden some defaults setting.

What is your scanner, and what software are you using to drive it?
