Like all Wikipedia pages, it's been written and revised by a number of people over the years. If you click on the "History" tab you can see how often it is changed and how many people get involved. Some are actually people who know about chips (like David Spragg) and others are non-chipping Wiki fussbudgets who make revisions and post comments like "Wikipedia is more than a collection of links to online stores".
But, I agree, the contributors have done a great job.
