Those 2 pieces actually came from 2 different "diggers". We met one of the guys (Flamingo plate & a Golden Nugget money clip) through a friend in Searchlight. He (the 'digger') used to work at one of the museums in Vegas. Now (well, when we met him) he leads desert tours, including tours to the dump, if you want ! He also goes to the dump to dig for 'buried treasure'. He's the one who told us how to find the place... and gave us a few tips on dump survival. I don't remember if he collects anything himself, or just sells the stuff he finds.

The other digger (Sal Sagev Cup) has a collection of broken stuff! He took the whole stuff to an antique shop in LV to sell for him. They listed the cup on ebay, where we bought it. He found a broken El Cortez ashtray once, and left it at the antique shop to see if they could learn anything about it. We'd never seen it before and tried to buy it, but didn't offer much as it was pretty badly broken (I was envisioning a small display with sand, and the ashtray sticking up out of it.. ). He said he'd rather keep it for his collection. Eventually we found one like it, but intact ...for a whole buncha money !
