IMHO, these people here who say they don't like private auctions are in the minority. If I were a buyer of upper end chips, I would prefer that my identity remain anonymous so I think you've done the right thing in that regard.

As for a reserve auction; I prefer to start it at the minimum price I am willing to take and let it go from there OR if it is a chip that I know is going to sell at a good price then I'll "start it low and see how high it goes." It's been my experience that people avoid reserve auctions and they don't bring as much $$$.
