Anyway, no real BIG story here, just that I (along with my wife and son) attended the Treasure Island auction. When it cam time to auction off the door pulls, there was a great deal of interest from the floor, so thye auctionier decided to not do all of them as a single lot, but to instead auction off one set and let that price be the frinal price for all sets and that you had to raise your hand and say how many sets you wanted. At the price offered (which I can't recall, but I have a bill somewhere) I knew I wanted one set and quickly got into the queue to claim a set. But when they asked me how many, Pam tugged my sleeve and said "2"!
The extra set went to Debbie (via eBay) and I still have one set, along with 6 or so pirate costumes, one British officer costume and several replica flint-lock rifles that were bolted to the walls as interior decor in one of the restaurants.
Not sure why Treasure Island dumped their name, switching to "ti", but conjecture is a name infringement on the Treasure Island casino in MN. Who knows, but I'm happy to have a set of those door pulls!
