Casino Aztar framed chip-set arrives....

This framed set of commemorative chips is from Casino Aztar, Evansville, IN.

Entitled "Freedom In Every Heart" World War II Remembered, it is a set of seven chips, depicting various war-front and home-front scenes. The center chip shows the common reverse, which is also the obverse for that chip. This framed set is similar to the "Back to the 40's" 12-chip set put out by the Aztar's sister property in Laughlin, NV, the Ramada Express, in that the casino had some chip-sets framed.

This set was recently offered on eBay, but was mis-catogorized as "World War II Memorabilia". It was not listed in the "chip" categories.

The auction identified the chips as being "numbered" but it was not until I received the framed set that I could see that these chips are NOT the same as the chips listed as CG09702, CG09776, CG09794, CG09862, CG09905, CG10052 and CG10053 (here on Greg's ChipGuide site). Although the artwork is the same, it seems that these chips are hot-stamped with a serial number and each inlay was produced with the wording "of 100". (The hot-stamped serial number appears above the "of 100".)

This framed-set is number 045.

When I told Greg (Susong) about the set, he asked for scans of the individual chips, so I took the frame apart, which revealed a hidden Certificate of Authenticity. Although the certificate is a form copy, with a unique serial number (again 045) that is calligraphy'ed on, the ceryification signature (Jim Brown, VP and GM) is an original autograph.

So the question now is... Where are the other 99 framed sets?

Here are the seven chips...

Thanks for looking!

Jim
