My Foreign Club roulette has an attribution

Dean Sanders, who attributed my CA Albert c&s has provided an attribution for my Foreign Club c&s.

Here is parts of the email Dean sent:

I don't have a smoking gun but I think a decent case for an attribution on the "Foreign Club" chip can be made based on several factors:

1. We assume the chips were used at a place called the "Foreign Club" (obviously!)--which narrows down the possibilities to several known locations.
2. We know the chips were ordered/shipped in 1934--a new casino named the "Foreign Club" opened just outside of Mexico City, Mexico in April 1934.
3. We know there were 21,000 chips in the order (which seems like a lot to me) and, as you have said, it appears from the chip order that there were an abnormally large number of tables at the club--according to the United Press, the "Foreign Club" was "the largest gambling casino in the world." According to the AP, it "attracted several hundred persons to gamble every night."

So, a giant new casino opens in 1934 called the "Foreign Club", and a giant chip order is made the same year with that name on the chip--seems like a good match (although perhaps not conclusive, still pretty good).

Gambling at the "Foreign Club" lasted only about 8 months--a couple of days after the inauguration of Lazaro Cardenas as President of Mexico he ordered all gambling to cease at the club (a member of the Mexican chamber of deputies called the club "a house of shame for the Revolution"; the summer of 1934 saw several threats to bomb the casino).

Incidently, it appears that the movers and shakers behind the casino were major operators in Tijuana(as well as the builders of the Agua Calinete: Baron Long and James Coffroth).

I sent this to Allan Myers who has agreed with the attribution. I guess more chips will go to Dean asap. It looks like I will be Dean's source for crest and seals. The only cost to Dean is the info he has provided.

Chips will be sent to anyone that can provide a a plausible attribution to any of my "Unknowns". I have many on my website.

Here are Dean's 2 attributions: CA Albert -Cincinnati, OH and Foreign Club - Mexico City, Mexico:
