Casino Chips was a sub-section of "Antiques and Collectibles" on Prodigy, and because I was always hanging out there, Prodigy ended up signing me as a special contributor, later hiring me as the community manager. (working as Pete Porro) I also managed the Gardening community during the last days of Prodigy Internet. They had me watching a couple of other BBs on the Prodigy Classic service, until that went dark. Oh yes, and I was also a file librarian and invisible chat room moderator...
Problem was, that you had to be a Prodigy member to write messages.
We did have some live auctions in the chat room (that Michael Knapp ran) and there were even auctions where people donated chips and the winner got chips, but the money went to the club.
Thanks Greg, for bringing us all together in one place.
Go through the charter members list and you can figure out pretty fast, where the club came from.
