You didn't SAY you wanted a whole collection of handles!
Here's my favorite Golden Nugget menu.
(And a pair of nylons from the Silver Slipper... not even pantyhose! )
The menu is about 18" square, including the frame. The menu items are painted in gold, on some kind of pressboard which is mounted in a frame. There's a heavy wooden brace attached to the back so it's freestanding. This thing weighs several pounds!
It used to stand on the maitre d' stand at Lillie Langtry's, which was a restaurant at the Golden Nugget. (The menu offers a Golden Nugget Porterhouse for $12.95...second entree item--sorry for the bad photo, you know me... ). The lady we bought it from lived in LV back in the 80's, and had a roommate named Judith. The girls collected menus, and covered their kitchen walls with 'em. One night they went to Lillie Langtry's and were admiring this menu. Judith said "I'm going to get the menu..." Judith was a big woman, 6' or taller, and the girls were wearing ponchos. After dinner, when the maitre d' was away from his station, they left the restaurant and Judith slipped the menu under her poncho as they walked out.
(I love the stories that come with some of our 'stuff'! )
