In Response To: Rick Miner's Obituary ()

Arthur G. "Rick" Miner of Chester, 64, passed away peacefully May 29, 2007, at the Veterans Medical Center in Reno, Nev. Rick was born Oct. 11, 1942 in Chambersburg, Pa. He was the youngest son of Arthur L. Miner and Evelyn R. Miner. Rick resided in California since 1964 and lived in Chester for the past 38 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964 as an aviation electronics specialist. In Chester, Rick was a well-known businessman involved in the construction industry. He specialized in steel building erection and insulation installation. Rick was known in the surrounding communities as a country western dance instructor and a member of the contractors association. In the early years he played in a band and owned the doughnut shop next to the now Chevron Station. Rick was a life member of the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club. He had many friends that he kept in contact with via the Internet. Rick is survived by his wife, Diane Sue "Suzy" Miner of Chester; sons Travis Miner of Valley Springs and Devin Miner of Chico; grandson Tyler of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Evelyn June Crist of Chambersburg, Pa.; brothers Paul L. Miner of Grapevine, Texas and Terry L. Miner of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many loving family members and friends. He was a gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all. Rick will be interred at the Chester Cemetery. Graveside services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, June 14, at 11 a.m. After the service, Rick's family and friends will gather at the Elk's Lodge in Chester. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Chester Elk's Vocational Scholarship Fund. Donations can be dropped off at David Price Jewelers or mailed to Chester Elks, P.O. Box 1329, Chester, CA. 96020.
