I called a sears technician out and they said the TV had hairline crack in the main/master circuit board and it was toast. The part was on six month back order which they told me means - they don't make the part anymore and you can't get the part. As a result, I had a huge boat anchor in my TV Room .
I called Sears to talk to their AV Department manager about it hoping they would be kind and maybe give me a deal on a replacement TV but he wasn't available. Since he was not available, I asked to speak with the Store manager. I told him about my problem and that was I regular customer - I had previously purchased washer, dryer, dish washer and also different TV from the same store over the years. He said he would check and see what he could do.
He called back and said sure enough, Hitachi didn't manufacture the TV in the same size that I had - but they did have one that was one step larger then my old one.... He then went on to inform me that Sears would replace it FREE of charge. That's right FREE! They delivered a 65" TV to my house and took the old one away. The only condition was that I would agree to buy an extended warranty this time which I happily did . I love Sears!!!
