Chip variation Q - The Mint purple $.25

When the guides show one chip (N1913, 7th issue), are there typically color variations due to reorders, etc.? I wouldn't think the difference below is due to aging/environment, but then again - still pretty new at this.

On the left, the chip color is a bit more vivid, even though a bit more worn. The right one could just have some imbedded grime, but when doing a side-by-side of the actual chips, even the bottom of those nice C&J hats show a different shade of purple. But look at the color of the casino name for the real difference -- left is a light green, the right much more aqua/teal. I cannot see any other variation, except the black printing on right might be just a bit more bold.

The scanner images are pretty true but underplay the difference in the purple shades a bit.

Any thoughts?
