Are you planning on attending the convention in August? This is my 2nd year as a member of the club, and will be my first convention. I've been collecting for over 10 years and have learned more as a member of the club in two years and on the ChipBoard for just 5 months than in all my previous years combined. As far as I'm concerned both the club and the board are now indispensable to my collecting. The vast majority of people on the board and extraordinarily helpful, so you should feel free to ask bot the tough and east collecting questions.
I'm mainly going to the convention because it is the largest gathering of dealers in the year. In addition to all the educational and social aspects of the convention, it will have about 100 dealers, and if you're looking for some tough chips that don't often appear on eBay that is usually where you'll find them.
You'll notice that many members put their club membership number, and some their state, in their name line. It is a help to the readers since there are many non-members on the ChipBoard as well. It is open to all, but some offers apply only to members, and in buying/selling/and trading club members are automatically are bound by the club code of ethics, which you should read, and which does not apply to non-club members.
I hope to meet you at the convention. If you see an old fat guy with cane/walker and ultra short hair, beard, and glasses - There's a good chance it's me. Please stop me and say "Hi", because almost everyone, except some collectors from Florida, are going to be new to me, even though I've conversed with them on the ChipBoard many times.
