Welcome to the hobby! One thing that people that have been around will tell you: specialize in what you collect! You said that you are currently collecting a "wide variety of Las Vegas chips". That will bankrupt you very quickly! You should think about what you want to concentrate on:
- only chips from a certain casino?
- only chips of a certain denomination? (fractionals? $1?? $5? higher?)
- only house chips? Or Special edition chips?

Focusing on LV is a good start, but think about what you really like...otherwise you may turn sour on this because you are spending a lot of money and not getting close to a goal (like all the $1 in LV)
