It's a heck of lot easier to get an answer on this board than through the postal service.

Please tell me if I am correct in my interpretation of what the postal rates are.

To mail a normal padded envelope (assuming it is less than 3/4 of an inch thick,) the cost would be $80¢ for the first ounce and $0.17¢ for each additinal ounce.

Egro, a 6 oz. package mailed in a bubble wrap would cost $0.80¢ plus $0.85¢ for the next 5 ounces ($0.17 x 5) or a total of $1.65.
