RESPONSES TO THE NOR CAL SHOW

Hi again! I wanted to say thanks to the people that sent replies to me regarding the Nor Cal Show and their opinions. It means a lot to me to hear other chippers opinions and I wanted to share them with you. I left their names out in case they didn't want them included.

Thanks again for your support!
David

P.S. Please continue to send your opinions. I'd like to hear from more people if they'd like to share.

"I am very sorry about the low turnout at the show.

I enjoyed it. For me to come 400+ miles, it was great to see so many dealers that don't go to Casinorama. I was able to make many good deals.

I hope you can continue with the show as I will be there next year.

Here is my possible suggestion. Have someone go around to local card rooms in the area and give flyers with free admission coupons to players in the card rooms. I visited several card rooms before the show and no one knew about the show. Actually, one manager from the Limelight Card Room attended the show on my recommendation. He had not heard of it. He just started collecting chips and was thrilled. I saw him there."

loved the show. It is a great location and many reasons why it can be a very successful one in the future. I will offer one suggestion. There are many cardrooms in your area. I was in a bunch of them collecting chips and playing. I came up a few days early. When I mentioned the show, no one had heard about it. I solicited several who had interest and saw three of them at the show. Cardroom usually wont let you put up a flyer, but they wont stop anybody from walking in and passing something out at the tables. Like a discount on the entry fee. Some volunteers could make a circuit of the rooms for the week prior to the show. One of the people I got to come, I saw buying some chips. He is an employ at the Limelight. Anyway, I sure hope you have it again next year. If you do, you can count on me being there again.

HERE IS MY REPLY TO THIS PERSON WHICH ANSWERS SEVERAL SIMILAR QUESTIONS FROM OTHERS.

First of all, thank you very much for your reply and your opinion. It means a lot to me to hear from someone that can give me their honest view of the show. I wanted to also let you know that I did travel and talk to a group of local card rooms. Lime light being one of them. I left flyers in some and talked to the manager of each establishment. The lime light didn't want me to leave flyers although the lady I talked to took one. I like the idea of volunteers to help with this, although it was extremely difficult to get our own Northern California Club members to man the FREE table I gave them to help recruit new members and spread the word of the club. (Thanks to Raulin and the others that came by to man the club table). I will try harder next time, (if there is a next time) to recruit some volunteers.

I also like the idea of discount coupons for entry being handed out instead of just having them on my website. I did get a couple of other replies with opinions and a couple of them said the location wasn't the most desirable. Some said having it at a gaming establishment would be better. (I tried all the local Indian casinos and they were simply way too expensive or didn't have a room to accomidate a trade show.) I didn't want to do it in Reno because the other Show would kind of overshadow mine. I think some people were confused with the location as Placer County Fair Grounds, thinking it was in Auburn or up in Placerville. I may use this same location again because people will now know where it is and the ones who don't can find out from the people who came. (Assuming I do another show).

Thank you David for all the hard work you put into the show. I, for one, had a great time at the show and a wonderful weekend and got to reconnect with many wonderful friends and fellow dealers. Kudos to you for venturing out and trying something new. I hope his is the first of many to come.

p.s. I hope you continue to do the show. The show was very well organized. The only thing I heard negative was the location. That perhaps it should be located somewhere gaming related. I think you did a great job though.

AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSES AND SUPPORT.
