1. Tony has his family back together again. Everything is fine and moving on. Hence the significance of the Journey song playing in the background that he chooses while sitting there. Don't Stop Believn' - It goes on and on and on and on
2. Or all those strange looking guys in the diner were really hit men and when your screen went black, Tony got hit as well as the wife and AJ - perhaps. Meadow having trouble parking her car doesn't get hit and survives because she was late getting there. If you remember when Tony and Bobby were talking about what it's like to die in the boat in episode 1 and then they flashed back to that scene when the show started tonight, they said everything just goes black.
3. There has to be some significance of the FBI agent saying "Yes, we can win this thing" as well, but I'm not sure what.
After about an hour of shock, I kind of liked the ending.
If you wanted to see him wacked then you can imagine it that way, if you wanted a happy ending, then all those strange people in the diner were just that, strange people.
Just my 2 cents.
I hope they don't do a movie and just leave it as is... but money will dictate when and if there is a movie.
