Best to spend your time developing a good search
In Response To: Now I'm Really Ticked at eBay mad ()

Sellers on eBay are, for the most part, not professional sellers. Most just want to get an auction up and are not willing to spend a lot of time figuring out the heirarchy of item classifications. Adding more detailed breakdowns as several on this bb have pushed for only makes the sellers's task harder. You may wish he could do a perfect job, but if your objective is to find stuff you'd like to bid on, don't depend on proper classification.

There is a very elaborate search process for eBay buyers. You can use item classifications or ignore them. The main thing is to get the right "key words" in your search and the right "ignore words" to cut out the stuff you find you're not interested in. Use the detailed search process. Save the string you find works best on your My eBay page and use that whenever you look for stuff to bid on. You can also expand your search to look at the descriptions in the auctions as well as the titles, but be careful as it's easy to get fooled by descriptions.
