There is a thread about video poker going in the last couple of days. I don't have time to teach everything about the game plus I DON'T know everything about the game. I can answer some of your questions. Video Poker is a lot like blackjack, there are thousands of self appointed experts who will tell you how to beat the game, but very few people ever do. Full pay video poker simply refers to a game with the maximum payout offered for that particular game. For example: basic Jacks Or Better must have a payout schedule of 9 coins returned for a Full House and 6 coins returned for a flush. Most machines today pay 8 & 5, not full pay, but usually the only game in the casino. With PERFECT play the 9-6 full pay returns 99.54% while the 8-5 returns 97.30. The one beatable vidoe poker is the full pay Dueces Wild machine. This has a pay schedule of 15-9-5. That is 15 coins returned for five of a kind, 9 for straight flush and 5 for 4 of a kind. With PERFECT play this machine returns 100.76%. The key word always being PERFECT play. This is where the blackjack comparison comes in. First you need to find the full pay machine, you have to learn perfect basic strategy and never vary, third you need a bankroll. Remember, when we talk about house percentages a couple of real important things come into play. #1 the house is in action 24 hours a day, 365 days a year- you are not. #2 The house has an unlimited bankroll-you don't. And remember, I usually charge for this information, but since you are all my friends consider it an early convention present and good luck.
