I can only imagine how difficult it has been for you to battle the disease, and to sell your cars and equipment. Those cars aren't just cars, they are an extension of the man who built and raced them, a labor of love in every way. At least keeping the rail in the family looks to be of some comfort. I hope your son-in-law is able to put the car on the track on a regular basis, and enjoy what he has. Run it in regular local bracket races, or maybe Super Comp or Quick Rod. Maybe even stick that blown 509 in it and run Top Dragster or Quick 8 or Quick 16, what ever is available for cars running in the 6's in your neighborhood.

The big boys are racing at Route 66 this weekend, but what makes this event even more special is, it's the Jegs Allstars weekend too. The best Sportsman racers from all over the country have their own event within an event. This is a real treat for anyone who appreciates Sportsman drag racing, and I really appreciate Sportsman drag racing! While I'll work 25-30 drag racing events this year, only 5 will be National events. The rest will be NHRA divisional events, IHRA Pro-Am events, Summit ET events, and both Jegs SPORTSNationals events. Sportsman racers are the backbone of the sport, and I love spending my time around them.

I truly hope you can make it to the convention David, I really want to meet you. I was supposed to be in Epping, New Hampshire the weekend of the convention, but I was able to trade that event for the NHRA divisional in Columbus next month, so I'll be there! I'd make the Chicagoland meeting, but I'm working the Mile-High Nationals that weekend...
