The Silver slipper opened in Edmonton in 1967. This has been clearly stated in the Edmonton Northlands history portion of their website.
In addition, when I posted about the Silver Slipper chips that I found that pre-date the die-card mold, you stated to me that you knew where they were and were waiting for them to be released - or something along that line. I'll dig though my emails and provide the quote. This would indicate that you truly know the Edmonton Silver Slipper was open prior to '73 or that you are full of BS about the jetons from the Edmonton Slipper/Klondike days - either way something in your stories does not add up.
Someone can help me here with this piece - I believe that the gaming regulations in Nevada stated waaayyyy back when that the location of the casino had to be on the chips. I don't know the exact date, but in looking at the chips that I have, I would assume it was prior to the shipping dates on the records. There is no way that the LV Slipper would have missed that in ordering their chips.
All I can say is that the die-card chips circulating now came from Edmonton. Many of them touched my hands and I know that a few touched yours.
