But I was trying to get some information here, as a relatively new chipper and as someone who is trying to do his homework on any purchases I do. I haven't picked up the Campiglia book (yet), and have been relying on The Chip Rack and posting here to help out. Since my goal is not to get sucked into purchasing anything out there (and I see enough buying the imitation chips on eBay thinking they're real chips) but rather to build up a nice, small collection of chips for my own enjoyment, the research is a necessity. I'm not able to work with deep pockets like some folks, so winning auctions for smaller chips (or the occasional 'value' chip by sheer luck) takes both time and effort, time to be patient and effort to not jump the gun too quickly. And also be able to value the existing bids and figure if a chip is worth bidding on or is being overpriced.
Somewhere there's a possible article about being the new kid (hah!) on the chip here...
