John, if I get the envelopes back from the post office, I'll scan them both so you can see for yourself. Until then, you'll just have to trust me when I say I know the difference between an envelope that has collateral damage, and this one. I know this is going to be taken wrong, but I would hope that no honorable chipper would be so cheap as to try to pass off such a mangled envelope as this one; there's not enough tape in the world to make me want to do any further business with someone that would send even the cheapest chip in this kind of packaging. I don't believe Ron would have done that. Me, I'd rather spend a couple bucks on decent envelopes than to continually recycle old ones; ymmv.

So that leaves machine damage. Which could possibly explain the seam tear, but not the rest of the envelope.
