That would have been a little too late.
I do know the internal regs for the ship was:
"If the ship is out of servive the float was to be removed from the ship."
Out of service could mean Dry Dock but IMO it could mean under power without casino people aboard. IMO the float probably did not go down with the ship.
It would be the same as a casino cage manager telling the porters to take the chips and cash out to the parking lot and keep an eye on them until you get the word to bring them back.
Also kind of funny the Club Royal was the fastest ship on the coast and the only one that got caught in the eye of the storm, so to speak.
