By all means, I do not intend to make this a problem that you need to research. That being said, I really appreciate your suggestions. I guess my hope in posting was that someone else had and resolved the problem.

I have done a great deal of google and ask.com searching on this today. I have installed and re-installed IE 6 & 7. I just went through and compared every single setting with the other computer that loads quickly versus this one which is slow.

Here are a few updates:

• I was wrong about the site...it does load quickly. My problem is limited to the chipboard only
  
• the only message that appears while the chipboard in loading is: "Connecting..."
  
• Firefox loads immediately

So...I will continue to ponder this and look into additional options. I think it is now narrowed down to an IE issue (or add-on). Firefox works on this computer and IE works on the other so it does not appear to be comcast or my router, or IE in general).
