Since the Chipboard moved to the new server, at least 2 of us chippers (Ricky Pushkin and I) are experiencing VERY slow load times. When I enter the URL to go to the Chipboard, it takes just under a minute to load (seems like forever though) and my computer temporarily freezes in the process. Once there, I can navigate and read threads quickly, but when I post, same thing happens (very slow and computer freezes in the process).
Anyone else out there experiencing the same?
Some notes:
- This is only occurring with the Chipboard and the site - ALL other sites load very fast
- Both Ricky and I have Comcast as our internet provider
- I have a second computer using the same router. That computer does NOT experience the same problem (i.e. the chipboard loads instantly). That rules out Comcast and it rules out a router problem
- The second computer uses Internet Explorer version 6, the slow one is at IE Version 7. So, I down grade to IE 6 with hopes of resolution (no luck)
- Sure looks like a problem with my computer (that Ricky also has). I will continue to look for differences between the second computer and this one.
- I tried a variety of other things including deleting cookies, ipconfig /flushdns, ... to no avail
- I found a google hit with amazingly similar symptoms. The guy found no resolution, but did say the problem went away after a while. He concluded it was a problem with his internet provider. Does not appear to be the case for me.
Anyone out there have any suggestions to try???
