presuming all of the facts above are correct as stated, strictly speaking you did not ask for 'advice'. You did ask a question. The other party clearly answered your question (albeit one that you clearly did not like). Nothing in your post suggests that any person actually took advantage of a 'less knowledgable' member. Did you follow the procedures for filing a claim, or did you informally ask them to tell someone to change their opinion? If you did not follow the procedures it would be improper for the board to take any formal position i a private disagreement.
