I know that fake Kings Crown chips have been made. Check at the fantasy's fakes, etc. page here:

I don't know if the chips you are seeing are real or fake. There could also have been a legitimate find. Some sellers reveal their significant finds to the chip collecting public, but some conceal those facts. They slowly leak them out to keep prices artificially high.

Whether the chips you are seeing are a result of a new find (or perhaps someone has been hoarding them), or they are fantsy chips, I would be very cautious about your bids. Have you checked the guides to see what they say about those chips?
