Interesting how things run full cycle in Las Vegas.
Howard Hughes bought so many casinos in town but couldn't buy the Stardust. After his death, Bill Lummis took over the Summa Corporation which consisted of Howard Hughes Properties, Howartd Hughes Corporation, and Summerlin Corporation. Summa then merged into the F.S. Rouse Company, Rouse then merged into General Growth Properties which is now joining with Boyd Corporation to build the retail section of Echelon.
General Growth properties is the second largest U.S. publicly traded real estate investment trust in the U.S.
