In the overcrowded LA County Jails, it's not at all uncommon for people with sentences of 90 days or less to be "incarcerated" only for as long as it takes to process them into the jail and release them again. At least if the crime was non-violent.

I'm really not a Paris fan in any way, shape, or form, but the argument could actually be made that she is being made an example of if she actualy has to spend a day in jail.
