If you go by those prices they will go through the high speed sorter now and not manually sorted. This is why the big increase. They were never sent through the sorter. Maybe some postal workers will use the $.80 and others may charge $1.13 (will not go through the sorter) for 1 chip for a 4x8 package.
It then maybe caught on the other end as postage due too. It will be interesting for the next 2-4 weeks to see what all the postal workers charge and how they determine what type of package these bubble wrappers fall under.
I was just told yesterday that a very flat 4x8 bubble wrap, he may think this is flat enough to go for $.80(goes through the sorter), but someone else may charge you $1.13(does not go through the sorter and requires manual sort). You make the call on what you want to do. All in all I think they will eventually go as a parcel packages.
I'm just stating what I've been told. I guess we sit back and wait and see what will happens.
