Thank you Roy for bringing up this subject, Pam for posting the links to the old thread and Gene for making me curious about the debate. What an interesting old thread.
Has anything been learned since that 2002 thread? Did Rich Burgel ever come forward with pictures of the chips, the black and white photo or the TR King documentation? If not, why not?
I must say it makes me wonder what made Jim Perlowski so sure there wasn't an Apache Casino (Gene too). He must have had some reason for taking his position so strongly, but I agree with Pam, that it wasn't too clear. Was it simply that his research never showed a reference to an Apache Casino, and the people he spoke too told him the Hotel never owned a casino itself (but leased the space for casinos instead)? Could an Apache Casino have been owned by someone other than the Hotel owners by leasing the space and simply using the same name? I would LOVE to hear more on this, especially from Gene and Jim Perlowski. Pam made her argument pretty forcefully, I think (not conclusive, but strong evidence, nonetheless).
If this isn't the sort of discussion that makes you love this board, then what is??
