I just read the latest issue of ChipChat. Doug describes a c&s as being made by Burt because it has cross-hatching. Doug stated that USPC did not make c&s with cross-hatching.

This is most certainly not true. USPC made c&s with cross-hatching. However, since such chips are over 60 years old most cross-hatching has worn away.

Below is a $5 O'Dwyer Bros, NO C&S from 1939. I'm sure I could find many examples.
